Welcome to Claws of Awaji
In a summer update on all-things Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft has announced a release date for the game’s first major expansion; Claws of Awaji. The premium DLC (free for pre-orders) — which adds a new area and roughly 10-hours of fresh content — launches for Xbox on September 16th – and we have a free update for all players coming next week as well.
That free AC Shadows update lands on July 29th, and it contains quite a few community-requested features as Ubisoft attempts to keep players satiated. The upcoming July patch contains New Game+, an increased level cap, a new in-game Project and more.
“With all the Spring updates now released, it is the time to share more of the summer plans for Assassin’s Creed Shadows: from New Game+ coming in July, to the new community updates and the Claws of Awaji expansion coming in September,”
Between the July patch and that mid-September launch for Claws of Awaji, more quality-of-life features are coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows too. The team at Ubisoft is adding the ability to ‘un-fog’ the map by completing every viewpoint in a region, it’s enabling a mechanic to fast-forward the time of day, adding uncapped cutscene frame rates on PC, new hideout updates and more. All of this is coming at the “beginning of September” in AC Shadows.
The team’s summer update video closes out with a quick tease of that September Claws of Awaji expansion, which you can take a look at up above. In the meantime, expect the first community update to land for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Tuesday, July 29th.
