CD Projekt Red has disclosed the details of Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3, illustrating some significant features arriving for its expansive title. In a livestream featuring associate game director Paweł Sasko and other team members, the studio demonstrated how the forthcoming update is primarily focused on enhancing Night City’s immersion by introducing new vehicles, an AutoDrive capability, and additional enhancements for the in-game photo mode. The update is scheduled for release on July 17 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, with a later launch for Switch 2.
Here’s a brief summary of everything disclosed during the broadcast.
Further vehicles to gather
Automobile enthusiasts can incorporate three new cars and an additional motorcycle into V’s garage once they finish certain quests. Sasko mentioned that these tasks won’t contribute to achieving a 100% completion rate in the game, and activating them will be straightforward. Here’s the complete list of new vehicles obtainable through side missions:
Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru
Granted upon completing the side missions The Hunt and The Beast In Me. An additional side mission unlocks the CrystalCoat feature for it.
Rayfield Caliburn Mordred
Granted after completing the side missions The Beast in Me: Badlands, The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, Transmission, and Search & Destroy.
Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa
Unlocked after acquiring one Yaiba vehicle, obtaining three vehicles through Autofixer, and finishing the side mission Reported Crime: You Play with Fire.
Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila
Available for acquisition via Autofixer.
AutoDrive for convenience
Want to savor the views and sounds of Night City from within one of your preferred vehicles? You’ll be able to do just that with the AutoDrive functionality, enabling you to operate hands-free while cruising. This fresh mode–added to your vehicles through an in-world software update–will transform your car into a self-driving entity, adhering to traffic regulations when engaged. You’ll need to be on a road to benefit from it, but it appears to be a pleasant option for navigating the city.
This feature also includes a “wandering” mode for slow-paced cruising, and it’s compatible with motorcycles. If you come under attack, it automatically disables. A new “Cinematic Camera” can also be activated, allowing you to experience your driving escapades from unconventional perspectives.
Delamain taxis can also be summoned
For effortless sightseeing, you can now summon Cyberpunk 2077’s premier AI program, Delamain, to send you one of its taxis, for a nominal charge. This feature becomes available after completing the mission Don’t Lose Your Mind.
One of the finest photo modes in gaming is set to improve further
Cyberpunk 2077’s already extensive photo mode is being enhanced with new functionalities. You can choose from 27 fresh NPCs, select the time of day, and modify the weather to capture that ideal shot. New stickers and frames will also be introduced, the depth-of-field option has been refined, and a new Color Balance tab will enable you to design your own custom filters.
Console and PC enhancements
For those aiming to maximize graphical quality, Cyberpunk 2077 will support AMD FSR 3.1 following the update installation, with FSR 4 support arriving in the future. On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, VRR support will be incorporated.
An increased number of cars can utilize CrystalCoat
Notice something appealing on the streets? The CrystalCoat cosmetic feature is being extended to more vehicles from partnered brands, including motorcycles, allowing you to customize your ride with additional color options. Several lower-tier vehicles will also have access to this cosmetic feature.
