Predicting outcomes regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 is somewhat challenging since the release is still at least 10 months away. It’s not a matter of whether GTA 6 will succeed, but rather how significant the success will be and how far the repercussions will extend. The video game investment firm Konvoy has recently shared its forecasts for GTA 6, estimating that Rockstar Games’ newest entry will attain $7.6 billion in revenue just 60 days post-launch.
Josh Chapman—Konvoy’s managing partner—posted the firm’s GTA 6 projection on Linkedin earlier this week. Konvoy’s evaluation relies on certain assumptions that Rockstar has yet to validate, which include an $80 initial price and a $2 billion production budget for the game itself. Those figures remain speculative, and the CEO of Rockstar’s parent corporation, Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick recently mentioned that there is “far greater value to a consumer than whatever they spend,” in comparison to “what the top-line cost is.”
No matter what, Konvoy is convinced that GTA 6 will recover its presumed $2 billion budget in less than 30 days and will become the most monumental gaming launch ever, breaking records for volume sold and revenue attained. By the conclusion of the second month, Konvoy anticipates the game’s total earnings will be $7.6 billion.
Interestingly, Konvoy is of the opinion that GTA 6 will launch a new UGC platform that enables mod developers to create their own sections of the game, allowing them to possibly earn from their work through a creator economy similar to UEFN and Roblox.
One of the final forecasts is that GTA 6 will support 200-person lobbies and incorporate a system that permits players to pilfer weapons and items from one another.
Rockstar has been quite secretive regarding details of GTA 6, yet at least one leak has implied that Drake will operate his own radio station within the game. It’s also believed that the decision to delay the game to 2025 might cost the industry $2.7 billion in revenue.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 26, 2026.
