A report on Bethesda from Jez Corden

A significant omission from this year’s Xbox Games Showcase was Bethesda’s Starfield, despite an announcement from the team in March indicating that “a lot of thrilling developments are slated for the game this year”. While those developments were evidently not yet ready for showcasing this summer, it is alleged that Bethesda Game Studios is continuing its efforts on Starfield, including new DLC.
This information comes from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who asserts that Bethesda’s primary team is indeed focused on Starfield DLC and updates alongside the eagerly awaited Elder Scrolls 6. We’ll share Corden’s statements regarding Starfield below, extracted from a recent episode of The Xbox Two podcast:

“Bethesda’s primary team is still engaged with Starfield […] Starfield’s going to receive more DLC from what I’ve gathered. I’m uncertain about the timeline; I just heard that at least the Starfield DLC — and this is after layoffs, by the way — has not been cancelled.
It could potentially be cancelled in the future, next quarter I can’t say, but for now, it remains on track. So, the main teams at Bethesda currently are concentrating on Starfield DLC and Elder Scrolls 6 is progressing smoothly.”
This is an intriguing update, particularly following the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. Numerous fans anticipated the next major update to be unveiled there, especially since the Shattered Space DLC was introduced during Microsoft’s 2024 event. The lack of a summer appearance for the game prompted fans to express their worries regarding the game’s future, but perhaps this Corden update provides a glimmer of hope as we progress into the latter half of the year.
Of course, as always, this information is reported — and nothing official has been confirmed by Bethesda or Microsoft thus far. During that broad update on development back in March, the team mentioned “we can’t wait to discuss [what’s next] when the timing is appropriate”, so we’ll need to exercise a bit more patience for the next Bethesda update regarding Starfield.
