Some Xbox Game Pass Titles Are Now Playable Natively On Steam Deck

Battle.net integration is demonstrating significant utility

One of the primary features Steam Deck users have been asking for over the years is native Xbox Game Pass compatibility, yet it remains absent from Steam – and the Xbox PC app isn’t officially supported there either.

This doesn’t mean you’re completely out of options, however. One possible method is to stream Xbox Game Pass titles via the Xbox Cloud Gaming service. Another alternative is to dual-boot Windows on the device, and a third newly discovered option is to download PC Game Pass titles from alternative launchers such as Battle.net.

A Steam Deck user has been showcasing this on the system’s Reddit forum today, noting they have been playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 “seamlessly” by linking their Xbox account to Battle.net and retrieving it from there.

A brief look at the official Battle.net FAQ shows that 15 Xbox / PC Game Pass titles are presently accessible through Battle.net, including major launches such as Avowed, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and Sea Of Thieves.

Moreover, it appears that it’s not only Battle.net that functions this way. Other Steam Deck users have noted that you can access Xbox Game Pass titles from EA Play and Ubisoft+ through their respective launchers on the device as well.

So, there you have it! Clearly, this isn’t the ideal method to enjoy Xbox Game Pass titles on a handheld, but it’s a superb option if you’re already an owner of the Steam Deck and looking to maximize your subscription.

We would love to know how you access your Game Pass titles on Valve’s gadget – please share with us in the comments.
