Thank goodness
Hitman: World of Assassination made its debut alongside the Switch 2, and while it’s an outstanding game in its own right, there are certainly some quite significant performance challenges on Nintendo’s latest console.
Primarily, the variable frame rate seldom reaches that 60fps sweet spot, leading to some dreadful stuttering that is much more pronounced in docked mode due to the VRR technology in handheld mode. Fortunately, developer IO Interactive is cognizant of this and is aiming to rectify these concerns in the near future.

As reported by VGC, IO is aiming to deliver a resolution for the performance challenges “over the Summer.” A bit of a vague timeframe, we’re sure you’ll concur, but it gives the developer some leeway if additional time is required. It did not provide specifics on what the fix would encompass, but a representative mentioned that “the team is addressing some of those performance concerns right now,” indicating that the frame rate issue particularly would be at the forefront of the team’s priorities.
It also stated that these insights would be utilized for 007 First Light, scheduled to be released on Switch 2 in 2026. The official announcement for the title was made last month, with a comprehensive gameplay reveal slated for this Summer.
No matter what comes from the planned update, we’re looking forward to seeing what kind of enhancements it brings. We don’t know about you, but we’re thrilled to return to Hitman: World of Assassination. The only obstacle preventing us right now is that pesky frame rate.
