‘The Hundred Line’ Dev No Longer Sees “Bankruptcy As A Serious Future”

Back in May, we shared details on how The Hundred Line creator Too Kyo Games was “on the verge” of failure. Luckily, the impressive sales of the title seem to have altered the company’s trajectory.

In an interview with Bloomberg, co-director (and Danganronpa originator) Kazutaka Kodaka has disclosed that the title is “performing quite well” now, and although specific numbers are not provided, he continues to express that he no longer views “bankruptcy as a significant concern” for the team. The studio also has a new game in development.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy debuted in April and is currently a Switch console exclusive, with the title also available on Valve’s Steam platform for PC. The developer has previously mentioned having some extraordinarily ambitious concepts for the game moving forward, but its success was entirely dependent on the launch.

When we reviewed The Hundred Line here on Nintendo Life, we described it as an “outstanding” tactical RPG featuring a well-crafted and engaging narrative, alongside solid and strategic gameplay, an appealing art style, and enthusiastic voice acting.
