Activision is on the job

As you might remember, the last addition to the June 2025 Xbox Game Pass roster was Call of Duty: WW2, and while the title is functional and accessible on the console version of the service presently, the PC Game Pass variant is completely absent.

This has been the case for several days, with Activision releasing a statement on July 5th indicating that the team was looking into reports of a problem. Here’s a glimpse at their social media communication from that time:

So, what’s the dilemma? It seems to relate to an unupdated version of the game that was mistakenly uploaded to the Xbox PC app, leading to a scenario where players were being hacked while engaging with it.

You can find a few examples in the Reddit threads below:

This is undoubtedly a significant issue that is understandably taking time to rectify; however, we hope for a resolution very soon. In the interim, if you played this title on PC Game Pass before its removal, it may be prudent to execute an anti-virus scan just to be cautious. You’re likely fine, but it’s better to err on the side of caution!

Anyhow, this provides us a favorable opportunity to inquire how you’re finding the console version of Call of Duty: WW2 as well. Are you relishing what it presents thus far? We’d love to hear your opinions in the poll and comments below.
