Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Storms Past 1.5 Million Units Sold
Famitsu has delivered the latest glimpse at the Japanese boxed rankings, and all things considered, it’s a rather recognizable sight.
Mario Kart World is once more at the summit with an additional 114,106 units sold, bringing the overall total to nearly 1.3 million. In contrast, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is ascending the top ten to reach the fourth spot, moving 7,441 copies over the week.
It’s a strong week for Tamagotchi Plaza, as well. Despite our fairly critical review of the title, Japan’s fondness for Tamagotchi positions both the Switch and Switch 2 editions in the top ten.
Here’s a detailed look at this week’s top 10:
Switch 2 continues to perform exceptionally well, tallying another 128,643 units during the week to surge past the 1.5 million milestone. Concurrently, the original Switch is still faring quite well, selling a total of 17,712 across all three versions. Meanwhile, the PS5 has achieved a cumulative total of 8,629 units, and Xbox has recorded 529 (try not to chuckle in the back!).
