Blurred Art In Nintendo’s N64 Switch Online Trailer Suggests Exciting Upcoming Additions

Determined enthusiasts have been undertaking substantial investigative efforts regarding Nintendo’s N64 trailer from May and they believe they’ve spotted numerous yet-to-be-revealed titles for Nintendo Switch Online.

As pointed out by @ImakuniVT (thanks, VGC), the segment of the trailer displaying the app’s new CRT filter includes a blurred game selection menu beneath the settings screen. Experimenting with layers and a bit of Gaussian Blur, fans have been actively identifying potential titles in the backdrop, such as Donkey Kong 64, Forsaken 64, Glover, Super Smash Bros., and Rayman 2.

Considering the above post, you may deem it a stretch, but this response from @NitroExists illustrates how individuals have been comparing the blurred and muted box art from the trailer. Notice:

Now, does this imply that all these titles are certainly heading to the N64 NSO app? Not necessarily, and despite appearing convincing, there’s a chance the connections aren’t completely accurate. It’s also plausible that the team merely included placeholder art for testing purposes, and the individual crafting the trailer assumed nobody would be able to identify the art. Even if the assumptions are correct, it still doesn’t guarantee an official NSO launch is on the horizon.

Nonetheless, all the proposed titles are conceivable. DK64‘s arrival to promote Donkey Kong Bananza on Switch 2 seems quite evident, and surely it’s merely a matter of time until Smash Bros. and Melee appear on the subscription service. Meanwhile, Glover may seem improbable since it’s already available on the Switch eShop, but similar is the case with Turok, which is playable via NSO.

And fortunately, Forsaken was among the games we hoped could be integrated in a feature we created last year when the ‘Mature’ app launched. We’d be thrilled to witness that title added as well.

Do you believe we will be seeing these games on NSO in the future, near or distant? Share your thoughts in the usual spot.
