With Helldivers 2 featuring an unexpected announcement for Xbox recently, there’s inevitably been some conjecture about its potential inclusion in Xbox Game Pass as well – but this is “certainly not” happening at launch.
The community manager for the game dismissed this notion on Discord, addressing someone who caught wind of a rumour suggesting it would be available on Game Pass. Nonetheless, it’s been confirmed that there are “no plans” for Helldivers 2 on Game Pass at the moment.
“OP: I’m fairly certain it was affirmed to be arriving on gamepass.
Arrowhead Studios CM: Absolutely not. No intentions to bring it to gamepass.”
There shouldn’t be much astonishment regarding this, as Helldivers 2 is being published by PlayStation Publishing LLC on Xbox – indicating that Sony is directly accountable for introducing this renowned shooter to Xbox for the first time.
Indeed, we’ve witnessed MLB The Show on Xbox Game Pass previously, but Sony wasn’t actually the publisher – it was managed by the “MLB” organization instead. In the instance of Helldivers 2, we highly doubt Sony would be inclined to support the Game Pass service!
