Superman hasn’t even ascended yet, and already David Corenswet has his ideal choice for who he’d love his Man of Steel to encounter next. During the UK premiere, the individual portraying The Last Son of Krypton proposed an intriguing concept for getting Supes collaborating with a DC character that hasn’t graced the big screen in live-action (via DCU Updates).

“I think, like a Nightwing figure, one of Batman’s mentees,” articulated the new Superman. “It would be very cool as Superman has a strong fatherly vibe. I’d love to see his uncle side.”

Nightwing, naturally, is Dick Grayson, the initial Robin of Batman, prior to he abandoning the red and yellow to forge a path as an independent superhero. Since that time, he has evolved into a beloved hero himself, with writer Tom Taylor significantly influencing the flying Grayson’s heroic exploits in recent years. The most notable adaptation we’ve observed in live-action up to now was Brendon Thwaites’ portrayal of the character in the short-lived TV series, Titans.

While it might be anticipated that Dick might again be overlooked in the new version of the DCU hitting screens, he is indeed slated to feature in one of the most captivating DC narratives in development. Dynamic Duo is an upcoming film directed by Arthur Mintz and scripted by Matthew Aldrich (who wrote Coco), merging puppetry with CGI to narrate a tale centered on Grayson and the other, more notably aggressive, former Robin, Jason Todd. Regrettably, we will have to be patient, as its release is scheduled for 2028.

Another Robin anticipated to appear is Damien Wayne, who will be guided by his father, Bruce, in The Brave and the Bold, still in development. For now, however, you can catch Superman soaring faster than a train into theaters on July 11. For all other forthcoming DCU films and shows on the schedule, visit here.
