Fantasy Life was, formerly, a Nintendo 3DS exclusive – but launching its eagerly awaited successor across multiple platforms seems to be going exceptionally well for Level-5.
On the renowned creator’s extended (extended) awaited return – honestly, it hasn’t truly released a game aside from Megaton Musashi in more than six years – it’s affirmed that Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has surpassed 500,000 copies.
Although sales data is dispersed across platforms, we know the title has garnered 60k peak concurrent players on Steam this weekend, which places it well ahead of other significant recent launches like DOOM: The Dark Ages.
In somewhat related news, the Japanese studio has announced it will be introducing free DLC to the game at a later date to commemorate its international triumph. This will consist of new recipes and additional content intended to utilize “high rarity weapons.”
This is all part of a revival for Level-5, with other forthcoming titles including Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road and DECAPOLICE.
