Occasionally, you come across a game trailer that’s so peculiar and enchanting that you think, “Absolutely, I must try that.” Within just a couple of minutes of engaging with Ena: Dream BBQ, you’ll comprehend why it has accumulated nearly 25,000 reviews in a mere two months.

Ena: Dream BBQ is a peculiar game. Founded on surrealistic influences and created by the mind behind a web series called Ena, immersing yourself in it feels like you’ve entered a Salvador Dalí artwork. You assume the role of Ena, a character with a face divided down the middle, presenting one side directly toward you and the other in profile – it’s mind-bending, and many of the other characters are equally strange.

If you haven’t heard of Ena, that could be due to its launch occurring just three days after Schedule 1, the trending drug-dealing simulator that has captivated the gaming community since its release.

The evaluations, currently marked as ‘Overwhelmingly Positive,’ are quite unusual. “I don’t truly grasp a single thing that’s happening; I am simply here to prod at ENA with a stick, examining her like a peculiar insect,” one reviewer states.

“This game has had unimaginable effects on my psyche and has profoundly inspired me. I will not rest until I have played it 400 times,” declares another.

I can understand why individuals are so enchanted by it. The visuals are stunning, the characters are captivating, and even if I’m not entirely clear on what’s transpiring, I’m enjoying myself. Even the menu unfolds in Ena’s hands – a delightful diegetic detail.
