PlayStation Stars Closure Poll

So, PlayStation Stars is heading toward extinction — but how much do you truly care about its end?

The incentive program was initially unveiled in 2022 before being launched across various regions over several months. Essentially, Stars was (technically still is) a loyalty initiative, providing bonuses to users who remain involved with the PlayStation environment.

Digital ‘collectibles’ have consistently been available, but honestly, we’ve continuously questioned how many individuals actually utilize them. Indeed, for the majority of users, we’re confident that the primary appeal of Stars is the chance to reduce some of the expense on your next PS Store transaction.

Unlocking a bit of extra cash for your digital wallet — a perk for completing objectives and spending on the marketplace — was a genuine motivator to check in with PlayStation Stars from time to time. However, of course, Sony faced backlash for eliminating these cash rewards last year — although they were quickly reinstated.

The signs may have been evident concerning the future of Stars. Earlier this week, Sony confirmed that the service would be discontinued entirely in November 2026.

That is obviously still some time away, but as of now, no new members can enroll in the program — and no fresh campaigns or additional rewards will be incorporated into Stars beyond the 23rd of June 2025.

But does the end of PlayStation Stars resonate much with you? Are you upset to witness its departure, or do you find it hard to genuinely care? Cast your vote in our polls, and then share your honest thoughts in the comments section below.

Perhaps a bit excessively, some might suggest.
