At this stage, it is somewhat astonishing that Xbox has yet to shift Bethesda’s Starfield to PS5 given the numerous other titles that have been ported to the console – however, it appears that the intention is for that to change shortly.
As per notable leaker NateTheHate — who was significantly engaged in all the Oblivion Remastered speculation — Microsoft is expected to declare Starfield for PS5 in 2025. The informant does not specify if the actual game will debut this year – merely that the announcement should occur before the close of the year.
Nate further mentioned that they “anticipate the period between announcement and release to be brief”, so if the port is unveiled sometime this year, it is probable that the launch will come soon after. This aligns with other recent Xbox-to-PS5 ports that typically experience a few months gap between announcement and release.
This is merely a speculation at this moment, thus it is advisable to regard it as such – but considering the leaker’s recent success, and Xbox’s recent significant multiplatform endeavors, this sounds rather probable. Will there be another Xbox extension accompanying it similar to Shattered Space? Who can say, but Bethesda is undoubtedly still backing its spacefaring RPG in 2025.
