Merchandise from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33‘s Collector’s Edition is being reintroduced after it was completely sold out “far quicker” than anticipated the first time.
Earlier this year, a $150 version of the acclaimed turn-based RPG featured the standard game, some downloadable cosmetics, a shiny steelbook case, a 48-page hardcover artbook, and an 8-inch tall music box that also served as a monolith figurine. However, Expedition 33’s Collector’s Edition vanished so swiftly that Sandfall Interactive is launching round two.
“Our Collector’s Edition sold out far quicker than anticipated,” the developer tweeted today. “We recognize that many of you missed it, so we’ve been working on something special since then.”
The new £99.99 / $119.99 Monolith Set encompasses all the delightful physical merchandise, excluding the base game. Pre-orders commence tomorrow, May 23, and conclude on June 12 at 11am EDT / 8am PDT.
“Because of the ongoing tariff issue between the US and China, shipping expenses to the US will be elevated to cover potential charges upon delivery, and US customers might face extra import duties,” Sandfall noted. “To help deter scalpers, we’re also restricting purchases to two per customer.”
Clair Obscur turned out to be a significantly larger hit than anyone truly anticipated before its release, having garnered over one million sales within three days and broken concurrent player records on Steam. Therefore, it’s likely that many fans of the game were not fully aware of its existence just a few months back, and it makes sense that they would now desire the opportunity to obtain some physical collectibles for the J’RPG.
