Game Pass probably a contributing factor

A little less than a month ago, Bethesda unexpectedly released Oblivion Remastered following what felt like an age of speculation and rumors, and we were eager for it. The excitement surrounding the launch was certainly palpable, with the game skyrocketing in popularity shortly afterward – however, that hasn’t led to most players completing the main storyline, at least on Xbox.
During the weekend, a post in the Oblivion subreddit gained significant traction – one that revealed only 2.77% of Xbox users finishing the game’s primary quest. This figure has since risen to just over 3% in the days that followed, which remains a notably low percentage of players reaching the conclusion of Oblivion’s central narrative.
That said, several elements are influencing this scenario. To begin with, this is a remaster, and many players may have returned merely to explore the alterations and see how it differs. Additionally, there’s the Xbox Game Pass launch to consider (especially during a hectic period), which opens doors for numerous casual Oblivion enthusiasts checking out the game. Moreover, The Elder Scrolls IV is a substantial RPG, and completion rates are often low for longer and intricate titles.
Nevertheless, it’s intriguing to observe this revealed, and it’s also captivating that many people are interested in this statistic. Are the game’s existing issues causing some players to lose interest? Who can say for sure, but we sincerely hope that Bethesda and their team continue enhancing Oblivion Remastered in the forthcoming months.
