A Borderlands 3 enthusiast has successfully navigated the entire game at the utmost difficulty level, without being incapacitated even once.

In the Borderlands franchise, depleting your health causes you to collapse, but you’re not finished just yet. Instead, you enter a ‘fight for your life’ mode—if you can secure a kill while downed, you’ll be brought back to life to continue battling (teammates may also revive you during this phase).

For streamer LazyData, though, this scenario was never a consideration. Completing a full playthrough of Borderlands 3—including all downloadable content and the entire endgame—they progressed through the game without ever entering FFYL, save for one scripted instance that’s programmed into the game and unavoidable.

Adding to their feat’s impressiveness was the fact that they accomplished this challenge in Mayhem Mode, greatly amplifying enemy durability and introducing various additional modifiers. Mayhem Mode ranges from level 1 to level 10, so naturally, LazyData was determined to make the challenge as intense as possible.

Much of their gameplay utilized their signature ‘Hellzerker’ build for Amara, which prioritizes swift elimination of foes while maintaining mobility. Even more remarkable is that healing options are scarce in this setup, with what little is available requiring aggressive gameplay. This approach works well for a typical Borderlands game, but it undoubtedly becomes nerve-wracking when a single powerful blow could jeopardize the entire run.

Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford states “F balance” for Borderlands 4, while confirming that weapons and abilities will receive nerfs if deemed necessary.
