Dungeon & Fighter progresses forward

The Initial Berserker: Khazan hasn’t fulfilled publisher Nexon’s sales ambitions — but that’s not necessarily a concern, as indicated in the company’s recent financial statement.
The action RPG debuted for PS5 in March and garnered decent reviews. It successfully attracted fans of Souls-like games, yet it failed to dominate sales charts.
In fact, Nexon reports that its Q1 earnings fell short of expectations while discussing Khazan’s market performance. It elaborates: “The game has achieved our goal as a strategic first move in a multi-year strategy to present the Dungeon & Fighter IP to a worldwide audience.”
Thus, from the publisher’s viewpoint, Khazan has laid the groundwork for more Dungeon & Fighter (often abbreviated as DNF) — particularly in the western markets. The franchise has been popular in Asia since 2005 but has never had robust support for an overseas venture.
Looking ahead, Nexon plans to launch “two new titles” inspired by Khazan. They mentioned “Project
OVERKILL” (a mobile action RPG) and “Dungeon&Fighter: ARAD” (a Genshin Impact-style gacha title showcased at The Game Awards last year).

Some might say even a bit too much.
