If you happen to have an extra half a million dollars

SpecialEffect, a charity based in the UK, has recently showcased a fascinating piece of Xbox history through the online auction site Bring a Trailer. Indeed, a truly unique Ford GT car is available, linked to Microsoft, Turn 10 Studios, and the renowned Forza series.
This specific GT model was once owned by Alan Hartman, who has led both Turn 10 and the entire Xbox Game Studios division at various points during his time at Microsoft. Hartman now holds the title of honorary Vice President at SpecialEffect and has generously donated the car after witnessing the positive influence that the charity has on individuals’ lives.
“I’ve witnessed firsthand the remarkable work that SpecialEffect undertakes, and I’m privileged to contribute in this manner.
Not only do they bring happiness to many, but they set a guiding example for the entire gaming community as we work towards creating an equity situation for all gamers. Supporting them is a privilege, and I hope this auction inspires others to get involved and aid this incredible charity.”
The vehicle has also spent some time at Xbox Game Studios headquarters, which is a nice touch—it was showcased in the lobby at Turn 10 Studios for several years. Of course, this model of the Ford GT also appeared on the cover of Forza Motorsport 6—Microsoft’s 2015 installment in the series.
Currently, the auction for the 2017 Ford GT is active, with a current bid of $600,000—at the time of this writing; we anticipate this amount will rise significantly before bidding concludes in just over a week. If you’re interested and have the funds to own a piece of Forza history, now is your chance!
