We had never encountered it!

Alright, please excuse us for a moment, but the majority of individuals here at Pure Xbox HQ were unaware of Cookie Clicker until just two hours ago – yet vast portions of the internet appear to be going wild over its recently announced console version.
This simple ‘cookie clicking simulator’ initially debuted as a browser game in 2013, and has also been available for several years on the PC platform Steam. Even though we seem to have been living under a rock, that Steam release has amassed nearly 75K reviews since 2021, achieving an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating overall.
Here’s a brief overview of Cookie Clicker, along with some in-game visuals to whet your appetite:
“Cookie Clicker is a simulation about producing an outrageous quantity of cookies. To assist you in this mission, you will enlist a diverse array of supportive cookie creators, such as delightful Grandmas, Farms, Factories, and even mystical Portals.”
Regarding that Xbox launch, we know it’s set for May 22nd and will be accessible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but the game’s store page currently does not specify a price. However, the Nintendo Switch version is priced at just £4.29 / $4.99, and we anticipate the Xbox release will be in a similar price range.
In any case, we’ll find out how the cookie crumbles regarding this one and whether its Xbox debut will match the apparent popularity of the existing version, but we’re definitely witnessing a lot of excitement about Cookie Clicker emerging from its console-shaped oven on May 22.
