This highly sought-after Lego display piece for adults, the Transformers 2-in-1 Optimus Prime, is available again on Amazon at a fantastic markdown. This popular Transformers Lego set had been out of stock since before the holidays until March when Amazon replenished its stock. That restock, along with several subsequent ones, sold out quickly, but Amazon has restocked yet again, offering a 20% markdown, bringing the price of Lego Optimus Prime down to $144 (from $180). You can also obtain the 1,508-piece replica of the Autobot leader at Target for the same price. Walmart featured this offer recently as well, but unlike Amazon, it hasn’t replenished its stock after selling out.
Given the frequency with which we’ve seen this Lego Icons set sell out, it wouldn’t be surprising if this 2-in-1 build—Lego Optimus Prime can swiftly change between mech and truck forms—goes out of stock again soon. The current price is the same as the set’s Black Friday sale. If the deals at Amazon and Target vanish, it’s important to note that the Lego Store has Optimus Prime available at the full price of $180 MSRP. Lego officially labels Optimus Prime as “hard to find.” This designation combined with extended stock shortages may imply that the Optimus Prime kit, which launched in 2022, is nearing retirement.

Lego Transformers: Optimus Prime (1,508 Pieces)
The standout feature of the Optimus Prime set compared to other licensed models of this scale is its interactivity. Although dynamic poses aren’t possible, you can gently manipulate Optimus’s limbs, equip him with his iconic ion blaster, and swap his hand for the renowned Energon-Axe. With 19 points of articulation, this set functions as both a premium action figure and a striking display item.
The real enchantment lies in Optimus’s ability to convert into his classic truck form, seamlessly transitioning from the Autobot leader to a ready-to-roll big rig. The assembly process is the enjoyable part; it takes several hours to fit together all 1,508 components required to bring this beloved Cybertronian to existence.
After completion, you’ll possess a replica of Optimus Prime that stands 13.5 inches tall in mech form and stretches 10.5 inches in length when transformed into his truck mode.
Lego Transformers: Bumblebee (950 Pieces)
$90
After several years adventuring alone and transforming into a truck for extended drives, one of Optimus Prime’s companions finally made his way into the Lego universe last summer.
Lego’s 950-piece Bumblebee set has not received a discount yet, but this relatively smaller build is one of the coolest Lego sets priced under $100. It features numerous points of articulation, allowing for a swift transformation of the Autobot from mech to car mode.
Bumblebee measures 9.5 inches tall in mech form and 8.5 inches long in vehicle form.
Amazon also features exceptional offers on two additional legendary vehicles from cinematic history. The Lego Icons Back to the Future Time Machine is now available for $164 (was $200). This set allows for a 3-in-1 build, but unlike the Transformers collections, you must choose which DeLorean variant from the trilogy you prefer to assemble. Should you wish to switch it up later, you can partially disassemble the model and reconstruct it with instructions for an alternate design. Similar discounts can also be found at Walmart and
Target.
Additionally, Dune enthusiasts can enjoy a 20% discount on the Lego Icons: Atreides Royal Ornithopter, reducing the cost from $165 to $132. The 1,369-piece set includes six Lego minifigures.

On August 1, Lego will unveil its largest Fortnite-themed set to date. The reason for this mention is that the 2,503-piece Mecha Team Leader is expected to remind you of Lego’s Optimus Prime kit.
