The Odyssey is shaping up to be a cinematic masterpiece, bursting with a stellar ensemble, even though specific roles remain a mystery. At the forefront is Matt Damon’s portrayal of Odysseus, journeying back to his family on an arduous ten-year trek following the Trojan War. Understandably, bringing such a narrative to life will necessitate some thrilling action sequences, and a stunt performer on the project has recently disclosed insights about what lies ahead. During an appearance on the Action for Everyone podcast, James Newman kept significant specifics regarding the film minimal but made some audacious statements nonetheless. “They’re unlikely to create a movie like this ever again,” Newman remarked regarding Nolan’s first venture behind the lens since his Oscar-winning project, Oppenheimer. “I believe it’s going to be the epic of all epics. It will be Nolan at his finest. No restrictions.”
Nolan’s cast encompasses some well-known figures from his earlier films, including Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Elliot Page, and Benny Safdie. New faces feature Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo. He deserves every physically demanding role,” Newman commented. “With Tom, he’s clearly more athletic and younger, serving as a younger incarnation of Odysseus.”
