Lots Of Xbox Games Have Suddenly Been Delisted In Some Countries

It’s fairly normal for Xbox games to be removed from the Microsoft Store occasionally, yet it is unusual for a significant number to vanish all at once – and that’s exactly what has occurred in several European nations.

Earlier this week, Xbox enthusiasts began sharing on platforms like Reddit about titles such as Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Wanted: Dead becoming inaccessible for purchase in their locations, and without any notice:

Diving deeper into the matter, the team at True Achievements discovered additional titles like Song of the Deep, Super Meat Boy Forever, Hyper Light Drifter and Ooblets that had also been removed, with others later pointing out that The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, Twin Mirror, Marble It Up! Ultra and Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood are also missing.

Truthfully, we continue to uncover more and more:

It’s been nearly a week since these removals were first noted, and there’s no indication they’ll be restored on the Xbox Store for purchases. Why? Well, it could relate to new stipulations under the Digital Services Act in the EU, which mandates companies provide additional documentation to attain “trader” status to prevent their apps (in this instance, games) from being removed temporarily or permanently. However, we haven’t observed these delistings on PC or the PlayStation Store, making it peculiar that this is solely occurring on Xbox.

Regardless of the situation, it’s unlikely that this widespread removal was intended without informing anyone. We hope they all make a comeback soon (the majority, at least!).
