Talking Point: With Forza Horizon 5 Now On PS5, Do You Expect To See Horizon 6 Anytime Soon?

How near are we to FH6 on Xbox?

Last month, Forza Horizon 5‘s introduction on PS5 became the inaugural Xbox franchise to transition over, and although the shift felt somewhat unusual for us at PX HQ, enthusiasts have clearly been relishing the game greatly on PlayStation. Naturally, we’ve turned our thoughts towards what this means for the follow-up – considering we’ve had FH5 on Xbox for over three years now.

Approximately 18 months ago, I ventured onto the Pure Xbox platforms to express how I desired Forza Horizon 6 to innovate for the series, and after revisiting Playground Games’ latest tactic, I still strongly uphold that perspective over a year later. Forza Horizon 5 is a fantastic open-world racer, yet it feels somewhat conventional – particularly at this moment in 2025.

That said, if a significant series transformation is on the horizon (similar to Forza Motorsport in 2023), how far do you think we are from it? Could we realistically witness Forza Horizon 6 within the next year or two? There may be an even larger audience for it now, spanning multiple platforms, if Microsoft can leverage FH5’s PS5 release with a prompt and effective sequel.

However, I still believe haste isn’t critical here, even with the heightened excitement surrounding this new multiplatform launch. Ultimately, Playground also has Fable in development – set to launch in 2026 – so I think the FH6 team should take all the time they require. Whenever the follow-up arrives, I simply hope it feels fresh and thoroughly revitalized compared to Forza Horizon 5. Xbox should strive to uphold its position as the leader in open-world racing, after all.

When do you think Forza Horizon 6 may be released? Share your best estimate in the poll below!
