The newest Switch update introduced several significant features, including Virtual Game Cards and GameShare, as Nintendo prepares for the anticipated Switch 2.
Besides this (and, seemingly, a few frustrating error messages), the Switch eShop has also undergone a slight transformation, swapping the once-familiar orange design for a vibrant red; likely to better align with Nintendo’s overall branding.
Some users, as noted by IGN, have taken to social media to say goodbye to the orange eShop, with one user, @BoTalksGames, remarking, “RIP orange eShop. Lasted from 2011 to 2025 across 3DS, Wii U, and Switch”.
In our view, the red might be somewhat striking at first glance, yet the white text seems more prominent now. We did have a fondness for the orange, we must confess.
Now, we’d like to ask you, dear reader. Do you favor the new red theme, or do you miss the orange eShop days? Share your opinion by voting in the poll below.
