“This will result in internal assessments”
There’s clearly a great deal of discussion occurring today regarding Xbox increasing its prices for consoles, accessories, and even games, and according to one analyst, this is actually “merely the start” of what lies ahead.
Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners has elaborated on the rationale behind the Xbox price surge, emphasizing that “Sony will also feel the same impact from tariffs” and even Nintendo might have to elevate prices if circumstances change.
Here’s what Ahmad shared on social media earlier today:
As you may have noticed, the United States seems to be particularly affected by the rising Xbox console costs, with the Xbox Series S increasing by $80 and the Xbox Series X by $100.
It is uncertain whether Sony will also implement similar changes later this year (although the company did just raise PS5 prices in the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand), and we are still waiting to discover if Xbox Game Pass will see a price increase as well. Here’s hoping that won’t be the case, and this is the final update we hear about price hikes in 2025!
