Guide: How To Download The Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign On Xbox Game Pass

Having trouble? Here’s how to fix it

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 heads to Xbox Game Pass today – featuring a story campaign, co-op mode and multiplayer. However, MWII is a part of the broader ‘Call of Duty’ app, and the install process isn’t exactly simple.

While the Call of Duty base game, MWII co-op and MWII multiplayer installs are readily available on your Xbox console, the game’s campaign mode may be mysteriously missing from the install list. That’s because, for some reason, you have to manually find an Xbox Store ‘Campaign Pack’ for the campaign mode install to show up.

Here’s the easiest way you can fix this, and get playing the Modern Warfare 2 campaign on Xbox Game Pass:

Note: this will only work once the game is live on Xbox Game Pass, or if you own it outright.

  • Head to the Xbox Store on your console and go to your wishlist.
  • Hit ‘Get’ on the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Pack.
  • Either install the pack from here, or head back to Call of Duty’s ‘Manage game’ area and find the MWII campaign pack from there.
  • Once installed alongside the ‘Call of Duty’ base game, you’ll be able to play the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.

As we talked about when the game first launched back in late 2022, Modern Warfare 2 has an excellent campaign mode, and sits alongside last year’s Black Ops 6 as two of the best COD campaigns in ages. It’s well worth getting this all sorted and giving it a go, then!

We hope this guide helps and you can get stuck into the MW2 campaign on Xbox Game Pass!
