Sabotage Studio has recently announced the launch date and additional information regarding Sea of Stars’ forthcoming DLC, Throes of the Watchmaker.
This expansion, which will be offered at no cost to all gamers, launches on PS5 and PS4 on 20th May 2025.
The DLC, as indicated by its name, features a post-narrative journey centered around the Watchmaker, the figure responsible for creating the in-game board game Wheels and building the Clockwork Castle.
Zale and Valere find themselves in a miniature clockwork realm named Horloge, facing threats from an enigmatic, cursed carnival.
In this world, both lead characters acquire new classes; Zale becomes a juggler, while Valere takes on the role of an acrobat. These new classes introduce unique attacks and combos, meaning seasoned players must adapt their strategies.
Additionally, they are joined by a new playable character, Artificer, who you might recognize from the main storyline.
Throes of the Watchmaker presents approximately eight hours of new content, featuring a fresh environment and characters, a standalone narrative coupled with cinematic cutscenes, and new compositions from returning musician Eric W. Brown. Guest composer Yasunori Mitsuda also returns for this DLC.
If you enjoyed the original title, this offers more of the same, but with new gameplay elements adding a distinct touch. Plus, it’s free, making it an easy decision to dive back in.
