Go on, just one more attempt

When Astral Ascent launched on Switch in 2023, we referred to it as “Arguably the finest roguelike since Hades“, and we were being truthful—it’s fantastic. Soon, the run-based gameplay will become even more remarkable with the introduction of its ver. 2.0 release and a new DLC pack titled ‘The Outer Reaches’.
This dynamic duo is rapidly delivering new features. The complimentary ver. 2.0 update introduces additional rooms for enhancing builds and a new ‘Imprint’ magic system, allowing for further spell modification. Simultaneously, the ‘Outer Reaches’ DLC introduces four new realms to investigate, effectively doubling the original game’s size, plus new adversaries, exploration mechanics, and an exciting boss encounter with a recognizable character.
Both the free update and the premium DLC ($9.99) become available on PC today, but we’ll need to be patient for the Switch version, with the team aiming for a mid-May release.
You can view all these newcomers in action in the 2.0 trailer above, but a detailed look at some fresh characters and settings can be found in the screenshots below:
It all seems rather splendid and arrives in addition to an already exceptional roguelike. If you haven’t experienced it yet, now could be the ideal moment.
