Case in point

For enthusiasts of Turtles looking for something appealing to add to their collection, they should watch for this announcement, as Super Evil Megacorp has today revealed that the Hades-inspired roguelike Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate will be available in physical form.

Let’s start with the basic offering. The Splintered Fate ‘Deluxe Edition’ includes a boxed version of the fantastic roguelike, reversible cover art, 10 collectible cards, the ‘Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam’ DLC, and an additional yet-to-be-revealed DLC — how thrilling! This version will be released on 26th August, with pre-orders commencing today.

Next up is the big deal. If you appreciate some merchandise with your physical editions, consider the ‘Pipin’ Hot Collector’s Edition’, also arriving on 26th Aug. In addition to all the items found in the Deluxe Edition, this version also includes a set of ‘Mutant Ooze’ tabletop RPG dice, an NYC sewer manhole cover dice storage, a 50-page art collection and game guide, posters, a Dragon/Dreamer coin, an original comic by IDW Publishing and a collector’s pizza box. Wow.

Of course, the larger option will set you back a bit more, but it offers an extensive collection of Turtles merchandise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Splintered Fate when it was released on Switch last year. In our review, we described it as “an entertaining and accessible ‘Hades-like’ that shines when played with friends,” despite its tendency to invite “unfavorable parallels to Supergiant’s classic”.

Jim joined Nintendo Life in 2022 and, despite his claim that The Minish Cap is the finest Zelda game and his steadfast affection for the Star Wars prequels (yes, seriously), he has consistently produced news and features for the site since then.
