We’ve always enjoyed using Turtle Beach’s range of Xbox controllers here at Pure Xbox, so we’re interested to see two new versions hitting the market this May – and both of them are falling into the budget category as well.
The cheapest of the two is called the Rematch™ Core Wired Controller, and it’s retailing for just $29.99 on the Turtle Beach website. It includes dual rumble motors and impulse triggers, audio controls and a fatigue-free grip.

The second of these new Xbox budget controllers is the Afterglow™ Wave Wired Controller, which retails for $49.99 on the Turtle Beach website. This is a new version of the PDP Afterglow Wave Wired Controller, adding “category-defining Hall Effect 3-stop adjustable triggers” and “extensive customisation options”.

It should also be noted that there are five different colour options for each of these two Turtle Beach controllers, so there’s plenty of choice. Of course, being budget controllers, both of these are wired rather than wireless.
There are lots of other Turtle Beach Xbox controller options if you’re interested, with my personal favourite budget controller being the Turtle Beach React-R. That one’s just $24.99 on the website right now, and although some people have reported issues with it, I’ve personally been using mine for years with no issues. It’s great!
