Just under two years since the release of Alan Wake 2, the developer Remedy is gearing up to unveil its new major game, the co-op shooter FBC: Firebreak. You can discover more details about the Control offshoot during an upcoming ‘Special Livestream’ showcase happening next week.
Indeed, the Finnish company announced the event at the conclusion of its Hazards of the Job trailer, which we’ve provided above for your viewing enjoyment. The team’s FBC-centric showcase will take place on Thursday, April 24th at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST.
In the meantime, here’s the latest overview from Remedy regarding what to anticipate in FBC: Firebreak:
“The Oldest House is filled with perilous paranatural threats, such as a Furnace emitting flames throughout the Maintenance Sector or pink Exogenic Mass that detonates upon contact. It’s your mission, as a Firebreaker, to confront these dangers with your companions, contain them, and escape unharmed.
FBC: Firebreak is a 3-player cooperative first-person shooter set within the mysterious Federal Bureau of Control (FBC). As the Bureau’s headquarters endures a relentless siege by otherworldly forces, only Firebreak—its most versatile response unit—possesses the skills and bravery needed to restore order.”
It’s important to note that last October, Remedy announced that FBC: Firebreak will be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day, which is excellent news for all subscribers of the Microsoft service. We are uncertain about the game’s price outside of the subscription service (this forthcoming showcase should provide clarity), but Remedy has confirmed that the game won’t be a free-to-play title upon its launch in Summer 2025.
