Debuting this August

Publisher Saber Interactive and developer Twirlbound have released a fresh trailer for their forthcoming 3D adventure title The Knightling, which is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch on 28th August 2025.

If this game isn’t already on your wishlist, we suggest keeping a keen eye on it as the launch date approaches. It appears visually stunning. There’s a clear influence from Zelda, and we appreciate that the main character’s shield can be deployed for melee combat, ranged attacks, and even for navigating the terrain.

Admittedly, we suspect that the visuals in the trailer may originate from the PS5 or a similar system, and we are particularly optimistic that it will make an appearance on the Switch 2. However, it remains to be seen if there’s enough here to test the capabilities of the original Switch too much. Fingers crossed!

Let’s peruse the official description:

When Clesseia’s famed guardian, Sir Lionstone, mysteriously vanishes, it falls to his brave squire to wield his enchanted shield, traverse the various lands, and emerge as the hero the kingdom desperately needs. In today’s new trailer, you’ll witness how swiftly and effectively your shield will assist you in battle, mobility, exploration, and more!

Unlock the remarkable powers of Sir Lionstone’s loyal shield to safeguard the realm. Block, bash, and parry adversaries in thrilling confrontations against fierce creatures and bandits. Leap, slide, dash, and glide across the territory to uncover new areas and conquer towering platforming challenges.

Every hero begins small!
