While the pricing becomes clearer when dissected in this manner, it is still a substantial amount of money for anyone who missed the games during their initial release, especially considering that Breath of the Wild is over eight years old at this point (though as we know,
“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition does not include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass DLC. That DLC is available as a separate purchase,” Nintendo mentions.
At full retail, that “separate purchase” will increase the total for all the Breath of the Wild content, raising your overall expenditure to $90. As IGN points out, no one buying the game in this manner will be spending any less than those who bought the original, yet at the same time, they’re not going to be paying any less, even eight years later.
Despite this being a considerable purchase, with the recently improved frame rate and HDR support, it seems that this Switch 2 Edition will indeed be the best way to experience the game if you haven’t done so before.
