Brass Lion Leisure has dismissed at least 13 employees following the decision to “realign” its workforce.

“Brass Lion Entertainment has made the tough choice to downsize our team as we refine our group around the strategy for the action-RPG we are developing,” states an announcement shared on Linkedin.

“Regrettably, this means we are unable to retain several skilled developers who have significantly contributed to our project and studio culture.”

The company identified the names of 13 individuals affected by the layoffs—although it remains unclear if these names encompass the full extent of the reductions.

Brass Lion has encouraged various companies to consider its former employees for any available positions.

The studio affirmed its dedication to its forthcoming (currently untitled) project, which is described as an “action-RPG video game title for consoles and PC.”

Brass Lion established its operations in 2019 to create unique worlds centered on Black and Brown characters, cultures, and narratives.

“Our mission is to diversify the video game industry, one fictional universe at a time, and extend them into other entertainment media, such as film, television, comics, and podcasts,” stated co-founder, Manveer Inheritor, at that time.

“We aspire to let all players enjoy our franchises, regardless of their background or preferred medium.”
