As with the prior 4K release of I Know What You Did Last Summer, this edition incorporates a delightful variety of bonus content. On the disc, viewers can expect to find deleted scenes, an alternate ending, commentary tracks, and more. This also appears to be one of the most accessible versions of the cult-classic horror film, as it was scanned from the original film negatives and remastered in 4K along with Dolby Vision. It comes housed in an exclusive steelbook case adorned with artwork from the movie.

I Know What You Did Last Summer was a significant success upon its release in 1997, coinciding with the ’90s resurgence of teen-slasher films. Adapted from the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan-Arquette, the film narrates the story of four teenagers who accidentally hit someone with their car, dispose of the body in the ocean, and then…which endure the fury of a murderous fisherman who knows their hidden truth. The film featured Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe, and was a massive success at the box office.

Alongside the fresh I Know What You Did Last Summer Steelbook 4K Edition, there is also a standard Blu-ray version of the movie available. It holds many of the same features as the 4K Steelbook Edition but is only $25.

I Know What You Did Last Summer was followed by a sequel in 1998, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and a direct-to-DVD sequel in 2006 named I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. It was also humorously parodied in the satirical horror-comedy, Scary Movie. Additionally, there was an eight-episode television series adaptation of the original in 2021. If you’re aiming to complete your collection, these are also available on Blu-ray.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming film is set to debut on July 18, and while it shares the same title as the original movie, it is, in reality, a direct sequel to the first sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. That shouldn’t be at all perplexing.
