No, it’s not a joke
Zenless Zone Zero is set to arrive on Xbox.
The developer HoYoVerse hinted at this news on April 1, sharing an image of a Bangboo adorned with Xbox-themed branding. As expected given the date, the announcement was met with a fair share of skepticism.
In a tweet posted earlier today (April 5) – just a few days after April Fool’s Day – HoYo confirmed that an official livestream scheduled for next week will feature an “exclusive preview of [its] forthcoming Xbox release,” reassuring fans that the April 1 tweet was not a prank at all.

Earlier this month, two prominent voices working on Zenless Zone Zero were unexpectedly recast due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike concerning AI exploitation, and the change was noted alongside the release of the game’s patch notes. In a statement shared on social media regarding this, the studio mentioned that its contracts provide “explicit AI protections, regardless of union affiliation” and it will continue to support its clients’ projects.
