Announcement: We have a date!

Announcement [Thu, April 3rd, 2025, 3:37pm]: Exciting news! GTA 5 is set to be available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on April 15th, with the console version accessible to both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Standard subscribers.

Here is further information about it (courtesy of Xbox Wire):

If you’ve been longing for the streets of Los Santos, I’m thrilled to share that Grand Theft Auto V is returning to Game Pass on April 15! Additionally, for those of us playing on PC, I’m even more delighted to announce that GTAV Enhanced will be playable with PC Game Pass and includes the latest features, such as Hao’s Special Works Vehicles and more.

Additional News: We have a significant Xbox Game Pass addition scheduled for later this month! Multiple GTA insiders have recently reported that GTA V will be making a comeback on Xbox Game Pass in April 2025, likely in two or three weeks’ time.

One of the primary sources reporting this is GTA Series Videos, which mentions that GTA V will be available on console, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming when it debuts on Xbox Game Pass in April. Here’s what they stated regarding this:

Furthermore, GTAV and GTA Online will join Xbox Game Pass later this month on Console, PC, and Cloud.

As you may recall, we have seen GTA 5 on Xbox Game Pass in the past, and it typically stays for just a few months before being removed again. This seems to be the optimal strategy for Take-Two before the launch of GTA 6 this fall!

Currently, there is no official launch date for GTA 5 on Xbox Game Pass yet, but we look forward to learning more in the near future. As soon as we receive any updates, we’ll be sure to inform you of the details.
