IO Interactive, the team behind the Hitman franchise, has recently revealed they will also be launching a new AAA blockbuster MindsEye this summer, developed by the fresh studio Respect a Rocket Boy.
With a confirmed release date for Xbox Series X|S on June 10th, 2025, MindsEye aims to captivate players with its “narrative-driven, action-adventure thriller, set in a fictional near-future Americana.” The team has further stated that the game will include “top-notch cinematics, high-speed driving, and intense combat,” which sounds like an appealing combination.
Here is the official premise for MindsEye on Xbox:
“Play as Jacob Diaz, a former soldier equipped with a mysterious neural implant who experiences memory loss and vivid flashbacks. Embark on a series of perilous covert missions to uncover the truths of your past in a world rife with the ongoing dangers of artificial intelligence, advanced experimentation, corporate intrigue, political corruption, and an unchecked military. MindsEye promises an engaging experience with a mind-twisting intricate storyline, immersive environments, innovative combat, futuristic technology, and thrilling high-speed chases.”
If you’re shouting ‘GTA, GTA!’ at your screen while observing any of this, it’s noteworthy that former Rockstar president Leslie Benzies is overseeing MindsEye, drawing inspiration from his past projects. Benzies was the lead developer on GTA 3 through GTA 5, so it’s fair to say he carries a substantial legacy in blockbuster action video games.
While this is the first we’re hearing about the nearby release date, the team did showcase MindsEye earlier this year during the State of Play, garnering a lot of attention. We’ll include the studio’s previous gameplay trailer below to give you an even better glimpse ahead of MindsEye’s Xbox Series X|S release on June 10th.
How are we feeling?
