
The Remaining of Us showrunner says “so grand” has came about in the 5-year gap since we final saw Joel and Ellie: “That is a part of the thriller of the season”
The Last of Us creator and showrunner Neil Druckmann hints at the “enigmas” of season 2 – all while commending lead actress Bella Ramsey.
“I mean Bella is such an outstanding performer that not only have they matured, but they’ve also undergone a lot of hardships in season one,” Druckmann shares with GamesRadar+ when asked about Bella Ramsey’s interpretation of a 19-year-old Ellie in season 2. “And so much has transpired during that five-year interval, which is part of the mystery of the season – what occurred in those five years. When you watch Bella act, you can truly perceive the depth of maturity in their gaze. It may seem straightforward, yet it’s incredibly challenging to achieve, and very few actors can execute it as well as they have.”
The Last of Us season 2 takes place five years after the quite harrowing events of the first season, following a young adult Ellie (Ramsey) as she comes into her own – although we are unsure if she is aware of Joel’s actions in The Last of Us season 1 finale.
