Daredevil: Born Again good made a excellent reference to Matt Murdock’s cameo in Spider-Man: No Methodology Dwelling
Alert: This article reveals key details for Daredevil: Born Again episode 5.
Daredevil: Born Again defies expectations in its latest episode with a unique installment that finds Matt Murdock entangled in a bank robbery. Featuring an appearance by Kamala Khan’s father, Yusuf Khan, along with numerous references to Ms. Marvel, it stands out as one of the recent MCU experiences so far.
This episode also includes a delightful callback to Spider-Man: No Way Home, signifying Matt Murdock’s inaugural appearance in the MCU. If you remember, in the 2021 film, Charlie Cox made a brief cameo as Peter Parker’s attorney.
He is seen in his kitchen with May Parker and Happy Hogan informing Peter that charges related to the Mysterio case have been dismissed. Murdock then catches a brick thrown through a window—briefly showcasing his superhero abilities—and informs Peter that he was able to do so because he’s “a very good lawyer.”
The most recent episode of Daredevil: Born Again—Matt Murdock’s first solo MCU series—features a reference to this scene. After Matt assists Yusuf in opening the bank vault and apprehending the thieves, Yusuf is astonished by the key superhero’s capabilities.
“What sort of lawyer are you?” Yusuf inquires, to which Matt simply responds, “A very good one.” This serves as a charming nod to one of the fans’ favorite quotes from Daredevil in the MCU thus far, while also contributing to the ongoing series of Spider-Man references woven throughout the show.
In the premiere episode, Wilson Fisk mentioned “a guy who wears a spider costume” in his speech regarding vigilantes. Later, in the show’s third episode, some fans noticed a hint towards Miles Morales’ father when Matt referenced “Officer Morales” in court. However, this reference may have already been disproven.
