
Opus Major raises $10m in seed funding round
Funding for Paris-based developer spearheaded by Griffin Ventures and early backer Alven
Paris-based developer Opus Major has secured $10 million in a seed funding round, led by Griffin Gaming Partners alongside early investor Alven.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Opus Major intends to utilize the capital to enhance the ongoing development of its debut, cross-platform multiplayer project codenamed Opus #1.
The studio also aims to release a limited-access playable version of the game, as well as to recruit additional developers to join its team.
Opus Major was co-founded in 2023 by CEO Jean-Nicolas Vernin and Chief Creative Officer Pierre-Armand Nicq.
Vernin previously co-founded mobile developer Madbox (where he served as CEO and Chief Production Officer) and worked as an executive producer and editorial director at Gameloft. Nicq spent five years at Ubisoft before joining Madbox in 2021.
