It is already leading the charts
Monolith Soft has become a significant part of Nintendo’s strategic division, and this week it launched Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition for Switch.
With the game now available, it’s followed this release with an updated official website, where it has included this title in its already impressive collection of games. This same site also showcases Nintendo projects that it has contributed to (like the Splatoon series), as well as the company’s prior games dating back to the GameCube and PlayStation 2 era.
The Switch era has been a remarkable period for Monolith Soft, and this is expected to continue with the upcoming Switch 2, especially now that Nintendo now fully owns the company. The release of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition follows Monolith Soft’s contributions to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in 2023.

“Monolith Soft’s focus on intelligent gameplay improvements shines through. This is X refined and modernized, thoughtfully redesigned and restructured to enhance the play experience like never before.”
Although it is still early days, the Switch release should provide this previously Wii U exclusive with a much-needed sales boost, and it appears to already be climbing to the top of Nintendo’s eShop charts in regions like the US and Japan, as highlighted on social media:
