With The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered now precisely two weeks away from its PC debut, Sony has outlined the platform-specific features it will be introducing – and regarding PSN requirements, not introducing. This comes alongside news of new content arriving for all platforms.

As mentioned on the PlayStation Blog, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PC incorporates all the upgrades seen in last year’s PS5 edition – which Digital Foundry termed “exceptional”. This also comes with the recently announced platform-specific features, including support for Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution, AMD FSR 3.1, and AMD FSR 4 (along with upscaling and frame generation), DirectStorage, and Ultrawide displays. As expected, there is also full controller support, along with numerous customization options for keyboard and mouse players.

Moreover, customizable settings include VSync and frame rate cap options (‘uncapped’ being one of the available choices), LOD distance range, plus adjustable quality settings for textures, volumetrics, shadows, reflections, and ambient occlusion. The PC version also boasts a wide range of graphics settings and presets – as specified in Sony’s system requirements below.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is set to launch for PC via Steam and Epic on April 3rd, and Sony reiterates – as previously stated – that the mandatory PlayStation Network account requirements which have controversially shadowed the company’s PC releases over the past year will no longer apply. However, as an incentive to sign up for PSN, players who do will receive 50 in-game items to unlock bonus features, as well as a new Ellie outfit featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog‘s upcoming game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Sony mentions that the jacket will also be available to PlayStation 5 players as part of Remastered’s 2.0 update, which accompanies the console release alongside the PC launch. This update also introduces new elements to the roguelike No Return mode, including two additional characters – The Last of Us Part 1’s Bill and Marlene (each sporting unique playstyles: the Smuggler and Menace-Taker respectively) – plus four new maps.

There’s Lookout, set high above Seattle, as well as an abandoned elementary school map simply named School. Streets takes place in the overgrown Seattle neighborhood of Hillcrest, while Nest is the building filled with Infected previously explored by Abby. All of this, along with new Trophies and achievements.
