By Everyone’s beloved serial killer-slaying protagonist is set to make a comeback with a new Showtime series, Dexter: Resurrection. Although no launch date for the new series has been announced, principal photography began in January 2025, so it’s only a matter of time before Dexter starts hunting once more. In the meantime, fans will soon have the opportunity to complete their Dexter Blu-ray collection by adding the new prequel miniseries, Dexter: Original Sin, to their collections. Preorders for Dexter: Original Sin’s Steelbook Edition are priced at $34.15 on Amazon (regularly $38) ahead of its June 10 release.

The Dexter: Original Sin Steelbook is a three-disc Blu-ray set featuring all 10 episodes of the series along with a bonus featurette entitled “Dissecting Dexter: Original Sin,” which appears to delve into the production of the prequel.
Similar to previous Dexter physical editions, Original Sin is exclusively available on standard Blu-ray and DVD. In addition to 1080p HD clarity, the Blu-ray discs support 5.1 Dolby TrueHD sound.
Thanks to Amazon’s current discount, Steelbook Edition preorders are just two dollars more than the standard Blu-ray version ($32). Original Sin will also be available on DVD upon release, with preorders priced at $24.49.
Dexter: Original Sin is a prequel set several years prior to the events of the original Dexter series. It offers viewers a closer look at Dexter Morgan’s (Patrick Gibson) evolution into the serial killer with a moral code that audiences recognize and love, while also outlining his beginnings as a forensic investigator for the Miami Dade County Police Department.
