Checking off numerous boxes

We’re back with yet another installment of Box Art Brawl and it’s about to get puzzling.
Before we jump into this week’s face-off, however, let’s revisit what happened during last week’s battle when we examined the NES’ Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom. Despite believing both covers were pretty fantastic, it was the Western edition that captured a staggering 82% of the votes, leaving Japan in the dust with just 18%. Ouch.
This time, to commemorate its recent addition to NSO, we will be focusing on Mario’s Picross for the Game Boy. Originally released in 1995, this puzzle game introduced Nintendo’s beloved plumber into the world of nonogram puzzles and the results are… well, it’s a Picross game… with a sprinkle of Mario — honestly, that’s two of this writer’s favorite things, so there’s nothing to complain about!
