The game development company Virtuos has established a modern studio in Seoul, South Korea.

The team aims to “foster collaboration with Korean game developers and publishers,” with overall director Seunghwan “Sean” Yoon at the helm. Key team members include design director Kyungjin Lee, senior industry design supervisor Sangwon Suh, and executive producer Wang Yufang.

“Virtuos Seoul will enhance the provision of creative and design skills, facilitating communication between Korean clients and Virtuos’ game development studios around the globe,” stated the developer. The announcement also highlighted its involvement in numerous games developed in South Korea, such as PUBG, Crossfire, and Dave the Diver.

Additional opportunities for Virtuos in Korea

Yoon stated that the country “has produced some of the world’s greatest successes and continues to be a leading gaming hub. Establishing a physical studio in Seoul allows Virtuos to directly address the specific challenges encountered by Korean studios, with close proximity encouraging tighter co-development and collaboration.”

Virtuos’ South Korea branch is its first modern team set up in 2025. In January, it acquired supporting developers Umanaïa, Pipeworks, and Abstraction. This is also its first internal team since expanding to Prague and Tokyo in 2023.

Developers can apply to Virtuos Seoul here, where there are vacancies available in game creation and technical art.
