In an unprecedented event, alternate universes will clash in the forthcoming DC X Sonic the Hedgehog comic book crossover. This narrative merges Sonic and his companions with the champions of the Justice League as they confront none other than Darkseid, with the fate of both their dimensions hanging in the balance. Recently, DC and Sega have unveiled a first look at the interior pages of DC X Sonic the Hedgehog #1, showcasing a race between the Justice League and Sonic’s team.
It’s possible that we’ll finally learn whether Sonic can outpace the Flash (though I suspect it will be a conclusion that flatters both characters in some way). However, that’s not the end of it; writer Ian Flynn and artist Adam Bryce Thomas will also set the Justice League, Sonic, and the hedgehog’s allies against Darkseid as he seemingly acquires the power of the notorious Chaos Emeralds.
Perhaps it’s this chaos that leads to the merging of the heroes into their new forms, as Sonic becomes the Flash, Shadow transforms into Batman, Tails morphs into Cyborg, Silver assumes the role of Green Lantern, Amy takes on the identity of Wonder Woman, and Knuckles steps up as Superman.
